Dr. Rudasill joined VCU in 2018, serving as the associate dean, senior associate dean and interim dean in the School of Education from 2018-2025. She moved to the provost’s office in 2025 as the interim Senior Vice Provost of faculty affairs, and was appointed to the permanent position later in 2025. Dr. Rudasill is also a tenured professor of educational psychology. 

Dr. Rudasill holds a Ph.D. in educational psychology from the University of Virginia, has authored nearly 100 journal articles, chapters, and books , and served as PI, Co-PI, or Co-I on external grants totaling over $5.5M. Her research has significantly contributed to the fields of educational psychology and child development. Furthermore, she has presented her work at more than 70 national and international conferences, showcasing her commitment to advancing knowledge and practice in education.

She serves on the editorial review boards of four journals, is a member of the Society for Research in Child Development, the American Educational Research Association, and the American Psychological Association where she is also a fellow.
