Troubleshooting for students
If you do not see an evaluation for a specific course, it could be because:
- The evaluations for this course may not have started yet or might be over. Please note the end date of your course in Banner–evaluations begin 14 days before that date for fall and spring semesters, and seven days before that date for summer and J-term/intersession.
- The course might be excluded from online evaluations because of our exclusion criteria We evaluate the following course types:
- Courses with schedule type LEC (lectures), LAB (labs), SEM (seminars), LLB (lecture & labs), WSP (workshops), STU (studios), or CLN (clinics) ARE evaluated by default
- CLN classes (clinics) are NOT evaluated in the RADS department
- Courses with schedule type PRA (practicums) are evaluated ONLY at the Qatar campus, Nursing college, and GRTY and HHAD departments.
- Courses with schedule type IND (independent studies) are evaluated ONLY in the RADS department.
- Courses with schedule type FLD (fieldwork) are evaluated ONLY at the Qatar campus and college of Social Work
- Your school or department does not use our system to conduct course evaluations.
- You withdrew from the course.
If you submitted an evaluation for an incorrect course or instructor, please send an email to courseeval@vcu.edu to request a reset for that evaluation. Include the course and section number so we can process your request in a timely manner. In case an evaluation is reset, the deadline for submitting it does not change.
If an evaluation is showing the wrong instructor for your course, please ask your instructor to contact us at courseeval@vcu.edu.
We use enrollment data from eServices to generate evaluation tasks for each student. If you are seeing an evaluation task for a course you are not enrolled in, please check your course registration status in eServices. If the information is correct there, please send all the relevant details to courseeval@vcu.edu and we will investigate.

We get our course and instructor information from Banner/eServices. You may not be listed as instructor for a course evaluation if:
- You are not listed as an instructor for that course in Banner. Please visit Schedule of Classes and check details for your course.
- Your percent responsibility for this course is 0. For team-taught or multi-instructor courses each instructor is assigned a percent responsibility value. Only instructors with a value of 1 or more are included in the evaluation.
If any of the above is true, please contact your school’s course scheduler to get this corrected in Banner.
Evaluation dates are based on the official course end date in Banner.
